DIGITAL MEDIA & OUTREACH MANAGER

Foster Pride is a non-profit that helps youth in foster care develop their talents and build self-esteem through mentoring relationships and the arts. We were named “One of NYC’s 4 Top Charities” by CBS.com. As Digital Media and Outreach Manager, you will be in charge of all digital & social fronts for Foster Pride. This includes all aspects of content planning, content creation, and marketing strategy for social, newsletters, and website, and events. Must be organized and a self-starter.
CONTENT CREATION: Photography & Graphic Design
-On-site photography at select events and classes
-Import, edit, and send out photos to various partners and staff to share and repost -Manage and organize Foster Pride Dropbox account
-Create banners, logos, and graphics to implement across digital media platforms -Coordinate and brainstorm photo shoot ideas to create content across online platforms
CONTENT PLANNING & IMPLEMENTATION: Social Media and Mailing List
-Schedule daily content across social platforms using Later App
-Create caption copies for each post, consistent with Foster Pride’s tone and voice -Design and implement email blast campaigns using Mailchimp
-Devise new marketing strategies to drive online traffic and donations -Optimize and adapt social media strategy to trends or changes in platforms -Maintain Instagram automation software
-Establish partnerships with brands and influencers to boost online presence
DONOR MANAGEMENT AND OUTREACH:
-Expand and manage contact and donor databases (e.g., DonorTools) -Archive thank you letters for individual and corporate donations -Create labels and order necessary materials for mailings, art classes, etc. -Arrange for all donations to Foster Pride to be picked up/delivered -Facilitate annual yarn and book donations
-Maintain and update website using Squarespace
-Ensure content across social media platforms is consistent with content on website
ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT & EVENTS:
-Assist in planning Foster Pride’s annual benefit -Field correspondence from Executive Director
3-5 years of related experience developing copy for websites, digital advertising, blogs and social media.
Degree in communication, marketing, or related field is desirable but not required.
Demonstrated knowledge of digital marketing and communication best practices, particularly in a nonprofit context.
Capability to develop relevant and engaging content for social media channels that resonates with Foster Pride’s audience.
Exceptional written communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to implement and analyze email marketing campaigns using platforms
such as MailChimp.
Highly efficient and a self-starter, with ability to prioritize and execute
Proven ability to develop expertise, and stay on top of trends in the
complicated and ever-changing field of digital media.
Knowledge of the following applications and software is preferred:
• Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Lightroom; Later App; MailChimp; Squarespace; HTML knowledge preferred but not required
